A bike trip to Ladakh is an adventure of a lifetime that lets you see beautiful scenery and learn about a unique culture.

On your list of places to see, make sure you include these:

Shanti Stupa is a peaceful Buddhist stupa with a white dome that has stunning views of the sunrise and sunset. The lively Leh Market is a great place to see how people live in the area, buy gifts, and try local food.

  • To get to Nubra Valley, you have to drive over Khardung La, which is one of the world's highest motorable passes. The oldest and biggest temple in Nubra Valley is the Diskit temple, which has a huge statue of Maitreya Buddha. Hunder: Enjoy a ride on a Bactrian camel with two humps and see the beautiful dunes.

  • The Samstanling Monastery is a lovely place with lovely paintings and a calm atmosphere.

  • Panamik is known for its hot springs, which are a nice place to relax in the middle of the rough landscape.

  • Visit Pangong Tso Lake to see the stunning beauty of this high-altitude, salty lake that changes colors all day. Take in the beautiful blues of the lake and the tall mountains in the background.

You might want to stay at a camp overnight to see the stars in the bright mountain sky.
Along the way, keep an eye out for Himalayan marmots.

Places of worship (Gompas): Ladakh is known for its old and beautiful monasteries:

  • The Hemis Festival is held every year at the biggest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh, the Hemis Monastery.

  • Thiksey Monastery has a beautiful two-story figure of Maitreya Buddha that looks like the Potala Palace in Lhasa.

  • Spituk Monastery is on top of a hill and has amazing views and old items inside.

  • The Lamayuru Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh and is in a very beautiful spot.

Which are the interesting places?

  • Magnetic Hill is an optical effect where cars seem to be able to fly through the air.
